94 Killed in Gaza in Israeli Strikes as Disease, Malnutrition Spread

Gaza, Aug. 4 (Petra) — The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said that 94 Palestinians were killed and 439 injured in the past 24 hours in ongoing Israeli attacks on the Strip.

In its daily update, the ministry said many victims remained under rubble or on the streets, as rescue and civil defense teams are unable to reach them.

The death toll since October 7, 2023, has now reached 60,933, with 150,027 injured, it said.

The ministry also warned of a growing health emergency, citing a rise in acute flaccid paralysis and Guillain-Barré Syndrome among children, linked to unusual infections and worsening malnutrition.

Medical tests revealed the presence of enteric viruses not associated with polio, indicating a deteriorating public health environment for uncontrollable outbreaks.

The ministry warned that continued environmental and medical collapse, coupled with a severe shortage of medications, could lead to widespread disease.

It called on all international and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately, provide critical medicines, and lift the blockade to halt the accelerating health and environmental crisis.
