Amman, September 16 (Petra) – The Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council convened its second Executive Office meeting via videoconference on Tuesday, with participation from representatives of member states.

The meeting addressed several key items on its agenda and approved a number of decisions in preparation for the Council’s second regular session, scheduled to take place in Riyadh at the end of this month.

Among the most notable outcomes were:

Approval of the draft Arab Cybersecurity Strategy
Endorsement of the mechanisms and procedures for allowing international organisations to join as observers
Approval of the Council’s membership in several international organisations and entities
Adoption of recommendations for the agenda of the upcoming session

These decisions aim to foster a secure, resilient and trusted Arab cyberspace that supports economic growth, enhances prosperity and strengthens regional cooperation.

The Council seeks to ensure that Arab interests are effectively represented in international forums through a unified Arab position.

The Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council, comprising cybersecurity ministers from member states, operates under the umbrella of the League of Arab States. Its bylaws were established by a decision of the Arab Summit.

The Council is tasked with shaping general policies, setting strategic priorities and coordinating joint efforts in the field of cybersecurity. It monitors developments in security, economics, legislation and technology to guide and implement collective plans across the Arab world.
