Arab Development Council Discusses Industrial Integration, Digital Transformation

Amman, Oct. 21 (Petra) — The 68th session of the Executive Council of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization (AIDSMO) convened in Rabat, Morocco, from October 20–22, with Jordan represented by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply Dana Zoubi via videoconference.

According to a statement by the organization on Tuesday, 12 Arab delegations are participating in the session, chaired by Shamlan Jahedli, Director-General of Kuwait’s Public Authority for Industry. The meetings will review key initiatives under the AIDSMO’s work program, including the Arab Industrial Integration Strategy aimed at strengthening industrial and mining sectors, enhancing competitiveness, improving quality infrastructure, and advancing human resource development.

Director General of the AIDSMO Adel Saqr underlined that the agenda reflects the organization’s efforts to bolster Arab industrial and mining cooperation through projects with measurable development outcomes. He highlighted the organization’s focus on digital transformation and artificial intelligence to modernize the Arab industry and support sustainable growth.

Saqr detailed several ongoing projects, including the Arab Industrial and Mining Products Requests and Offers Platform, the Arab Platform for Future Minerals, the Arab Platform for Industrial Indicators, and the Smart Digital Library. He also announced the completion of a guiding roadmap for energy transition minerals, to be unveiled at the 10th consultative meeting of Arab ministers of mineral resources next January in Saudi Arabia.
