Doha, January 5 (Petra) – The 14th Conference of Arab Ministers of Education commenced in Doha on Sunday, organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), in collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science. Jordan is represented at the event by the Minister of Education, Dr. Azmi Mahafzah.
Held under the theme “Comprehensive Education and Empowering Teachers: A Strategic Vision for Education in the Arab World,” the conference will run through Tuesday, hosting Arab education ministers, representatives from international and regional organizations, as well as experts and specialists in education.
The conference aligns with the resolutions of ALECSO’s 13th General Conference held in Rabat in May 2023 and delves into key strategic issues. Discussions focus on providing inclusive, sustainable, and high-quality education for all, integrating people with disabilities into education systems, fostering digital transformation, leveraging technology to improve education, and empowering teachers to enhance their effectiveness in educational processes.
Additionally, the conference serves as a distinguished Arab platform for the exchange of experiences, tackling challenges in the education sector, and improving educational policies, curricula, and infrastructure. It highlights the role of digital transformation and innovation in education to achieve sustainable development goals in the Arab region.
Qatar’s commitment to education development on both Arab and international levels is reflected in its hosting of this event. The conference underscores Qatar’s dedication to fostering cooperation among Arab nations to achieve a unified vision for advancing education in the region.
