Arab Parliament condemns ‘irresponsible’ Israeli statements leveled at Saudi Arabia

Cairo, February 8 (Petra) — Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Yamahi condemned Israeli officials’ “irresponsible” statements suggesting establishing a Palestinian state in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement on Saturday, Yamahi warned that such remarks could exacerbate tensions and fuel regional conflicts.

Yamahi said the Arab Parliament rejects the Israeli statements, which undermine the sovereignty, security and stability of Saudi Arabia.

He called them a “clear violation” of international law and United Nations resolutions, reiterating that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia are integral to Arab national security.

Yamahi reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s steadfast opposition to any statements that infringe upon the sovereignty of Arab nations.

He reiterated the Parliament’s support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate and inalienable right to establish an independent state on their national territory, including the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem on the borders of June 4, 1967.

He expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in preserving its sovereignty, security and stability.
