AREC to honor Jordanian figures for energy service next May

Amman, February 9 (Petra) – The Arab Renewable Energy Commission (AREC) announced it will honor Jordanian personalities at the 10th Arab Energy Forum from May 18-20 as the “best” national figures in job performance during their previous tenures.

In a statement Sunday, AREC said Jordanian former energy ministers, Dr. Muhammad Hamed, and Qutaiba Abu Qura, as well as former Secretary-General of Ministry of Energy, Ghaleb Ma’abreh, and ex-Director-General of the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), Abdul Fattah Daradkeh, will be honored, in recognition of their “distinguished” job performance and “prestigious” reputation.

The AREC noted the honored figures have contributed with “confidence and competence” to the “rapid” dissemination of the culture of energy and renewable energy systems to serve citizens in Jordan.

The statement stated AREC has set “precise” standards to promote national leaders and competencies, as a reference for the Arab market in the energy sector.

Additionally, the commission said these criteria can be embraced as a “specialized” technical and advisory reference, as experience and competence are key drivers to “continuously” support all Arab countries in this sector.
