
Amman, Sep. 15 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, on Monday received the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Jordan, Sheri Ritsema-Anderson, at his office at the General Command.
During the meeting, attended by a number of senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces, Huneiti and Ritsema-Anderson discussed strengthening cooperation and coordination frameworks, particularly in the humanitarian and development fields, to support national and regional efforts aimed at promoting stability and serving target communities.
Huneiti praised the United Nations’ role in addressing challenges, especially under the current regional circumstances, emphasizing the depth of the Kingdom’s strategic partnership with UN agencies.
For her part, the UN Coordinator expressed appreciation for the pivotal role played by Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in supporting peace, stability, and humanitarian efforts. She highlighted the United Nations’ pride in its strong partnership with Jordan.
