
Business Forum in Muscat Brings
Together Representatives of Omani, Qatari Trade Companies
Muscat, 21 Oct (ONA) — The
Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion is organizing a two-day
business forum in Muscat for Omani and Qatari trade companies.
Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al Thani,
Ambassador of the State Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman, said that
relations between Oman and Qatar have seen steady growth over the past decades,
thanks to the two countries’ shared vision based on mutual trust and exchange
of common benefits.
Al Thani underlined the Omani and Qatari leaderships’ keenness to enhance joint economic and commercial cooperation. He
pointed out that the forum seeks to open new up vistas for cooperation and
encourage partnerships between businesspeople to help realize joint prosperity
and advance economic and commercial relations.
For his part, Khalid Hamad Al
Kharousi, Director General of Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce,
Industry and Investment Promotion, said that the forum is in pursuance of
bilateral interaction that reflects the two countries’ vision to upgrade economic
cooperation and expand partnerships.
Meanwhile, Khalid Abdulla Al Mana,
Vice President of Enterprise Development at Qatar Development Bank (QDB), CEO
of “Qatar Exports” initiative, said that the forum seeks to establish more
commercial partnerships with Oman in shared strategic sectors.
He added that the volume of commercial
exchange between the two countries exceeded RO 664 million over the past few
years.
The forum included an overview about
an Omani market study. In addition to the overview, made by a team from “Qatar
Exports”, bilateral gatherings were held by representatives of 45 Omani and
Qatari trade companies that took part in the forum.
