“Cities Bank” Underscores Commitment to Sustainable Development, Energy Efficiency

Amman, February 16 (Petra) – The Director General of the Cities and Villages Development Bank, Mohammad Harahsheh, underscored the bank’s commitment to advancing sustainable development by enhancing energy efficiency and fostering investment in innovative environmental projects.

Speaking at a ceremony organized in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation to celebrate the graduation of the second cohort of engineers who earned the “EDGE Expert” certification after passing the international examination, Harahsheh highlighted the critical role of the Project Management and Agreements Unit at the bank.

He noted that the unit is instrumental in selecting suitable partners and maintaining continuous coordination among all relevant stakeholders to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives in accordance with the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

This milestone aligns with the bank’s efforts to bolster effective partnerships between local and international institutions. It contributes to the efficient implementation of initiatives and achieves sustainable development outcomes in line with national objectives to adopt green building standards.

The event also marked the graduation of engineers from the bank, municipalities, and several ministries and regulatory authorities, as part of a broader initiative to enhance the capacities of national professionals in implementing green and sustainable building practices.
