Communication Minister Outlines Plans to Modernize Media Communication System

Amman, Sep. 18 (Petra) – Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani on Thursday met with media spokespersons to discuss measures aimed at strengthening government communication and enhancing the role of institutional media representatives.

Momani said the ministry is developing a dedicated framework for media spokespersons to regulate their work, empower them, and improve their capacity to convey the institutional image of the ministries and public institutions they represent.

He added that the ministry will establish a follow-up room to monitor government communication, introduce an organizational guide for media units, and implement structured media planning and campaign launching. These measures aim to ensure spokespersons operate in a coordinated and institutionalized manner.

Momani emphasized that specialized training programs will be intensified to enhance spokespersons’ skills in media relations, crisis communication, and the use of modern digital tools. Periodic performance evaluations will ensure continuity and quality.

Preparations are also underway for the 2025 media spokespersons’ sessions, which will facilitate experience sharing, inter-institutional cooperation, and unified official messaging, supporting clarity, transparency, and public trust.

He underscored that these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to a modern communication system based on professionalism, transparency, and integration across institutions, aimed at strengthening citizens’ confidence in official information and countering misinformation.
