
Death Toll from Israeli Aggression on Gaza Rises to 61,020Gaza, 5 Aug (ONA) — The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which began on 23 October 2023, has risen to 61,020 martyrs, in addition to 150,671 wounded.
In a statement made today, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said that hospitals in the Strip received, over the past 24 hours, the bodies of 87 martyrs (8 of whom were recovered from under the rubble of destroyed buildings) and 644 wounded. It noted that there are still many victims under the rubble as ambulance and civil defense crews were unable to reach them due to a lack of equipment and supplies.
The ministry said that the number of Palestinian martyrs among those waiting for aid who arrived at hospitals during the past 24 hours reached 52, in addition to more than 352 wounded, bringing the total number of victims of those seeking aid who arrived at hospitals to 1,568 martyrs, and more than 11,230 wounded. Meanwhile, the death toll of martyrs and wounded since 18 March, when the occupation violated the ceasefire agreement, has risen to 9,519 martyrs, and 38,630 wounded.
The Israeli occupation forces resumed their devastating war on Gaza after violating the ceasefire agreement on 18 March, following a two-month pause.
