Department of Land and Survey’s e-shift reduced in-person clients by 70.74%

Amman, Feb. 12 (Petra) – Director General of the Department of Land and Survey (DLS), Dr. Ahmad Omoush, said the department has reduced the number of its in-person clients by 70.74%, according to statistics for last January.

In remarks to “Petra” Wednesday, Omoush noted the department has completed 9,923 e-sale transactions, and 59,597 land-related documents, based on the same figures.

The DLS’s strategy, he noted, aims to serve citizens and investors, based on the goals and axes of the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), mainly e-transformation, as it launched 35 online services during the past few days.

In this regard, he added that 3 important axes and goals target the executive plan of the DLS’s e-transformation drive.

Omoush stated the first axis provides e-services to citizens, mainly land ownership transactions, while the second focuses on investors, aimed to secure all necessary approvals electronically, and the third targets the real estate sector.

Omoush also noted these e-services facilitated transactions and saved time and effort for the service recipients and constitute “a qualitative leap” in the DLS’s performance.

Omoush remarked the department now provides website-based “comprehensive” e- services, which has “successfully” overcome major challenges, mainly data security and integrity.

On its future vision, he expressed the department’s readiness to respond “practically” to the suggestions of citizens, investors and key partners to obtain feedback on e-services and identify opportunities for improvement.
