Amman, Aug. 12 (Petra) — Heavy dust storms are currently sweeping through Ruweished, reducing horizontal visibility to near zero, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
In a post on its official page, the department urged residents and motorists traveling toward the northeastern border to exercise extreme caution.
Earlier, parts of southern Jordan, the northeastern Badia, and sections of the central region witnessed the formation of towering cumulonimbus clouds, accompanied by thundercloud cells and brief bursts of heavy rain.
Meanwhile, the Public Security Directorate issued a warning over poor visibility along stretches of the Desert Highway due to blowing dust. It called on drivers to remain vigilant, follow officers’ instructions, and be prepared for possible traffic stoppages if weather conditions worsen, in order to ensure public safety.
