Amman, Feb 23 (Petra) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi met with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit Sunday to prepare for next month’s emergency Arab Summit and discuss developments in Gaza.
The talks focused on consolidating ceasefire efforts in Gaza and ensuring sustainable humanitarian aid delivery.
Both officials rejected any displacement of Palestinians and supported Egypt’s reconstruction plan for Gaza that would allow residents to remain in their homes.
They warned against escalating tensions in the occupied West Bank and called for an end to illegal Israeli measures.
The officials reiterated that a sovereign Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital remains the only path to regional peace.
The meeting also addressed Syria’s situation, with both officials emphasizing support for Syria’s unity and stability while protecting the rights of all its citizens.
