FM, Korean counterpart discuss ties, region 

Amman, August 14 (Petra)– Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi, discussed with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Cho Hyun over the phone about ways to improve the situation in the region and bilateral ties.

In order to further the interests of the two friendly nations and peoples, Safadi and Hyun reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing and expanding collaboration between the two in a number of areas.

Safadi and Hyun discussed regional developments during the call, emphasizing the necessity of stepping up efforts to establish a comprehensive and long-lasting truce in Gaza and supporting American, Egyptian, and Qatari efforts to carry out the prisoner swap agreement in order to accomplish this.

Additionally, Safadi and Hyun talked about Gaza’s humanitarian crisis. Safadi emphasized the necessity of opening all crossings in order to provide the Strip, which is experiencing an unparalleled humanitarian crisis brought on and made worse by the invasion, with enough and prompt help. The Republic of Korea’s Foreign Minister confirmed that the Kingdom’s efforts in this area are supported.

Safadi commended the Republic of Korea’s efforts to reach the two-state solution, the admission of adequate humanitarian aid, and its support for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The two ministers decided to continue coordinating and working together on matters of shared interest.
