
Amman, May 8 (Petra) – Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Dina Bashir on Thursday said that Jordan, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, continues to implement comprehensive reforms aimed at advancing progress across various sectors.
During a meeting with a delegation from the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Bashir stated that these reforms seek to reinforce democratic governance, promote justice, and empower women and youth as integral contributors to national development.
She underlined His Majesty’s commitment to strengthening Jordanian-German relations, particularly in the economic and investment fields, and to boosting bilateral trade between the two countries.
Bashir also commended Germany’s support in helping Jordan fulfill its humanitarian obligations toward refugees and in addressing the economic repercussions of ongoing regional conflicts.
Members of the committee Bader Harahsheh, Ibrahim Tarawneh, Rakin Abu Haniyeh, Muhammad Aqel, Muhammad Jarrah, and Hayel Ayyash reaffirmed Jordan’s continuous pursuit of peace and stability in the Middle East and globally under the Hashemite leadership. They highlighted the Kingdom’s diplomatic efforts to end the war on Gaza and stressed the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state on their national soil.
The lawmakers urged the international community to swiftly intervene to halt Israeli practices against the Palestinian people and called for renewed efforts to rebuild Syria as a path toward regional security and stability.
For their part, members of the German delegation praised His Majesty King Abdullah II’s enduring efforts to promote peace in the region and improve living conditions across the Middle East. They highlighted the importance of His Majesty’s recent visit to Germany in enhancing bilateral diplomatic and economic cooperation, and reaffirmed Jordan’s pivotal role amid regional challenges.
