Former deputy PM stresses comprehensive policies for economic sustainability

Amman, Sept. 22 (Petra) – Former Deputy Prime Minister and economic expert Jawad Anani said on Monday that achieving economic sustainability requires a clear and comprehensive vision for economic policies, calling for intensified and integrated efforts by all stakeholders to realize development that benefits society as a whole.

Anani delivered the remarks during a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College titled “The Local, Regional and International Economic Environment and Its Impact on the Jordanian Economy,” for students of the 23rd Defense Course, in the presence of the college commander and members of the guidance board.

He emphasized that key measures to address external fluctuations include implementing political and administrative reforms, economic modernization, and strengthening research and development.

He highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors to improve the investment climate, stimulate economic growth, seize opportunities for sustainable development, promote self-reliance, diversify economic partnerships, develop national productive sectors, and enhance the local investment environment.

Anani also discussed the economic challenges facing Jordan and the opportunities available amid regional instability, stressing the need to focus on a productive economy through the use of local resources and support for key industries to ensure comprehensive national security.

The lecture concluded with an extensive discussion during which Anani answered questions and inquiries from the students.
