Amman, May 11 (Petra) – Germany’s newly appointed Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, said Sunday that Berlin does not believe the conflict in Gaza can be resolved through military means.
According to Deutsche Welle, Wadephul added that it is possible for Germany to voice criticism of the Israeli government’s approach.
He expressed doubt over whether the military campaign in Gaza would ultimately serve Israel’s security interests, emphasizing that Gaza is clearly part of the Palestinian territories.
Wadephul arrived in Israel on Saturday on his first official trip as Germany’s top diplomat.
