Interior Minister meets Interpol President, Europol Deputy Executive Director in Tuins

Tunis, Feb. 16 (Petra) Minister of Interior Mazen Faraya met on Sunday with Interpol President, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi, to discuss ways to enhance security cooperation between Jordan and Interpol.

The discussions, held on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, focused on combating organized crime, exchanging information, and strengthening cooperation mechanisms in areas of mutual interest.

Faraya reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to bolstering its partnership with Interpol within the framework of international efforts to combat transnational crime, emphasizing the importance of continuous coordination to address evolving security challenges.

Al-Raisi praised the efforts of Jordan’s Ministry of Interior and Public Security Directorate, highlighting Interpol’s readiness to support initiatives that promote regional and global security and stability.

Additionally, Faraya met with Jürgen Ebner, Deputy Executive Director of Europol for Governance, to discuss enhancing security cooperation and knowledge exchange, particularly within the strategic partnership between Jordan and the European Union.

Both sides emphasized the need to implement key security programs that would strengthen collaboration and tackle security challenges at both regional and international levels.
