Amman, Sept. 23 (Petra) — The Information and Communications Technology Association (int@j) has unveiled the “TechForward” project, a new initiative linking university graduation projects with local technology companies.
Backed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by GIZ in coordination with the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation, the program aims to turn student ideas into market-ready solutions.
The project seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry, enabling students to convert innovative concepts into practical applications that serve real business needs. By doing so, it also boosts the growth and global competitiveness of Jordanian tech firms.
In its first phase, TechForward will register students and companies, hold orientation meetings with universities, and host workshops for businesses on leveraging student-driven innovations. The pilot stage will support around 40 graduation projects across priority fields including e-commerce, digital marketing, cybersecurity, fintech, agri-tech, and digital transformation.
“This is a practical step to close the gap between university outcomes and labor market demands,” said int@j CEO Nidal Bitar, highlighting the platform as an opportunity for students to apply their skills in real-world challenges.
Project Director Jaafar Al-Shahabat added that TechForward will foster direct collaboration between companies and universities by aligning student projects with industry needs, creating tangible value for both sides.
