Israeli tanks roll into occupied Jenin

Ramallah, Feb 23 (Petra) — The Israeli occupation army expanded an ongoing offensive in the northern West Bank on Sunday, sending heavy armor to the periphery of the city of Jenin, according to Palestinian sources.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz told Army Radio he ordered troops to prepare for a long stay in Palestinian refugee camps, suspend the services of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and not allow residents displaced in previous military incursions to return to their homes.

In the village of Qabatya south of Jenin, Israeli military bulldozers destroyed roads, power and water lines, vehicles and property during a raid.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, the occupation army served a home demolition order to a family in the village of Kafr al-Dik, west of Salfit, the local council said in a statement.

Soldiers stormed the village, cordoned off the area around the home of Mahmoud Nabil and handed him an evacuation order prior to the demolition, it said.
