JCC, Indian IFFCO talk cooperation in fertilizer fields 

Amman, August 13 (Petra) – Director General of Jordanian Cooperative Corporation (JCC), Abdul Fattah Shalabi, on Wednesday discussed with a delegation from the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), prospects for strengthening joint partnerships.

Talks also went over offering support to the Jordanian cooperative sector, particularly agricultural cooperatives, by providing nitrogenous and phosphate fertilizers, in addition to IFFCO-produced nano-fertilizers.

During the meeting, both sides called for strengthening joint cooperation to serve cooperatives in Jordan, exchange expertise, and learn from each other’s experiences in cooperative work.

Shalabi and the delegation also discussed the possibility of framing various forms of joint cooperation by signing of a memorandum of understanding at a later date.

Shalabi stated Jordan is a “promising” country with many opportunities to strengthen partnerships and investment in various fields and resources, stressing the need to maintain joint constructive communication.

Shalabi indicated that the IFFCO is an “exemplary model” of developmental cooperation in the global cooperative movement, reflecting innovative projects, as it comprises 35,000 Indian cooperatives, serving 55 million members.

In turn, the delegation’s head, Dr. U.S. Awasthi, called for maintaing continuous mutual communication in strengthening bilateral relations to serve the two countries’ cooperative sector.

Awasthi praised the JCC’s achievements in cooperative work across various fields, referring to the progress made by the Jordanian cooperative movement in various aspects.

On future collaboration, Awasthi affirmed the IFFCO’s readiness to host JCC’s staff to learn about the cooperative’s experience in training and investment fields.
