Amman, Feb. 16 (Petra) -Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), in cooperation with Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, launched a project to automate a total of 171 services to streamline end-user transactions.
During the launching ceremony on Sunday, JFDA Director General, Dr. Nizar Mhidat, said the administration kicked off the digitization project early to complete its digital shift and automate 83 services previously out of the total figure.
Mhidat stated work is “still ongoing” to wrap up automation of all JFDA’s services, aimed to developing “highly efficient” services that meet recipients’ needs.
Mhidat added that the project came in implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), as automation is a “top priority” in the EMV’s “important” axes due to its impact on enhancing services, supporting the national economy, and boosting exports.
On its goals, he noted the project would contribute to registering drugs and medical supplies “faster,” achieving “quicker” tracking of food and pharmaceutical products, developing a “clearer” vision of the national stock of food and drugs and accelerating supply for this purpose.
Mhidat remarked the bid is carried out with the “highest standards of transparency, governance, and compliance with regulatory legislation in place”.
