Neves’ Bicycle-Kick Brace Inspires PSG in Thrilling Toulouse Victory

Paris,
31 Aug (ONA) — Paris St-Germain (PSG) continued their perfect start to the French
Ligue 1 season with a thrilling victory over Toulouse in a match that featured
spectacular goals and four penalties, all fueled by a breathtaking individual
display from João Neves.

The
20-year-old Portuguese international scored two remarkable overhead kicks
within a seven-minute span to set the tone for a dominant attacking
performance. Neves opened the scoring with a stunning acrobatic finish into the
top corner, before Bradley Barcola quickly doubled the lead. Neves then added a
third with another spectacular effort, controlling Achraf Hakimi’s cross before
powering his finish past goalkeeper Guillaume Restes.

Toulouse’s
defensive struggles continued when Ousmane Dembélé converted a penalty after Désiré
Doué was fouled in the area. The hosts showed signs of life when Charlie
Cresswell—recently a European Under-21 Championship winner with England—turned
in a rebound from close range.

The
match took further dramatic turns from the penalty spot. Toulouse’s Cristian
Casseres Jr. saw two spot-kicks saved by PSG keeper Lucas Chevalier, the first
of which was retaken due to the goalkeeper being off his line. After the break,
Dembélé scored his second penalty of the game after Barcola was fouled.

Neves
completed his hat-trick in the 78th minute with a powerful strike from the edge
of the box into the top corner. Toulouse scored two late consolation goals
through Yann Gboho and Alexis Vossah, but it was not enough to prevent PSG from
securing all three points and maintaining their position at the top of Ligue 1.

In
other league action, Lille produced a stunning second-half display to rout
Lorient 7-1, scoring five goals after the 77th minute.
