Amman, Feb. 3 (Petra) – Jordan ranked 123rd globally among the countries participating in the Global Gender Gap Report 2024, issued by the World Economic Forum, scoring 0.652 points. This marks an improvement of three places compared to last year, when Jordan ranked 126th with a score of 0.646 points.
According to the annual progress report of the Executive Program for the Economic Modernization Vision 2023-2025, which includes several priorities for preparing and implementing action plans to improve Jordan’s ranking in a number of international indicators, the government adopted an executive action plan to enhance Jordan’s position in the report. This plan was approved by the Economic Modernization Committee and circulated to all relevant national entities.
The government followed up on the implementation of the action plan through a working mechanism agreed upon with the concerned national entities to ensure the desired results in improving Jordan’s ranking in the index.
An analytical study was prepared on the results of the new edition of the report, including an analysis of Jordan’s performance in the index, its strengths and weaknesses, and benchmarks with countries that have achieved progress in this indicator. This was done by reviewing reports from these countries and studying potential improvement opportunities that could be adopted.
Among the key achievements related to the Economic Participation and Opportunity sub-index are the issuance of the 2024 instructions regulating the management and operation of childcare facilities in private and public workplaces, the instructions regulating private childcare facilities, and the instructions regulating childcare facilities in public workplaces for 2024.
