Jordan, Bahrain talk renewable energy cooperation

Amman, Sept. 24 (Petra) – Arab Renewable Energy Commission (AREC) Secretary-General Mohammad Taani and President of the Jordan Renewable Energy Association (JREEA) Kamel Daqamseh on Wednesday discussed with Bahraini Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa prospects to enhance cooperation in the renewable energy sector to support sustainable development in Arab countries.

Bahrain will host the 10th Arab Renewable Energy Forum November 3-5, along with the 15th meeting of the AREC Executive Office in Manama.

The forum will launch the “Comprehensive Arab Guide to Renewable Energy,” designed to serve public and private sectors, attract investment in clean energy, and empower youth and job seekers through providing updated data and information in the field, the AREC said in a statement.

The AREC General Secretariat is based in Amman and Bahrain currently holds the rotating presidency of the Commission, represented by the President of AREC and head of Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority, Kamal bin Ahmed.
