Jordan, Egypt prepare for 33rd joint higher committee talks in Amman 

Amman, August 10 (Petra) – The preparatory committee meetings for the 33rd session of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee on Sunday kicked off in Amman at the senior official level.

The discussions went over several issues within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.

Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Zoubi, chaired the Jordanian delegation, while Assistant Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Dr. Tarek Shaarawy, headed the Egyptian side.

Representatives from the two countries’ relevant ministries and institutions attended the expert-level talks.

In intensive sectoral sessions, the committee discussed cooperation issues in various fields at the bilateral level, within the framework of strengthening relations and cooperation in the political and economic development fields.

Both sides also tackled steps to draft the final version of the agreements set to be signed at the end of the Higher Committee’s deliberations.

According to a Jordanian trade ministry statement, talks enjoy “remarkable” importance, as their joint outcomes and agreements are “highly and closely” implemented.

The two-day event is held in preparation for holding the Higher Committee meeting, which will be held next Tuesday, co-chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan and Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly.
