Jordan, France discuss boosting military ties

Amman, Oct 1 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, on Wednesday welcomed a French military team headed by Brigadier General Frederic Dodet, Head of the Africa–Middle East Sub-Directorate at the Directorate of International Development, part of the French Directorate General of Armaments.

They discussed ways to enhance military cooperation, particularly in training, defense capability development, and the exchange of expertise “to serve the interests of both countries and strengthen joint military action.”

During the meeting, attended by senior Jordan Armed Forces officers, Huneiti underscored the importance of joint efforts to address common challenges and achieve international peace and security, stressing the strong ties between the armed forces of the two countries.

Dodet noted Jordan’s key role in promoting regional security and stability, affirming France’s commitment to expanding military cooperation with the Kingdom.
