
Amman, February 19 (Petra) — Sandeep Singh, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Amman, announced on Wednesday the launch of direct flights between Jordan and India starting in April, a move expected to enhance bilateral tourism and trade.
The announcement was made during a meeting organized by the Indian Embassy in Amman in collaboration with the Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents. The event, attended by tourism and travel industry representatives, aimed to promote India as a travel destination and strengthen tourism exchange between the two countries.
“Tourism and Hospitality is one of India’s largest service industries playing an important role in driving our nation’s progress. It acts as a stimulant for the growth of infrastructure including world-class hotels, resorts, exquisite restaurants, efficient transportation networks and state-of-the-art healthcare facilities,” he noted.
“In today’s event, we are highlighting the tourism potential of the state of Madhya Pradesh, also known as the “Heart of India,”. It is a treasure trove of historical, cultural, and natural wonders. Madhya Pradesh boasts of a tapestry of geographical diversity, encompassing world heritage sites and niche tourism offerings such as adventure tourism, wild-life tourism, spiritual tourism, yoga tourism and eco-tourism,” Singh said.
Chairperson of the Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents, Talal Majali, underscored the strong ties between Jordan and India, emphasizing their rich cultural and historical heritage. He noted the significant potential for expanding tourism cooperation and increasing visitor exchanges between the two nations.
