Jordan, Kazakhstan sign memorandum of cooperation in digital transformation

Amman, Feb 19 (Petra) – Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smeirat, and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, Jaslan Madiev, signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at enhancing the partnership in information and communication technology and supporting efforts in digital transformation and innovation.

According to a ministry statement on Wednesday, the memorandum focuses on sharing experiences in using technology to address national challenges and enhancing cooperation in e-government, smart infrastructure, e-health, and digital public services.

Smeirat emphasized that the memorandum reflects Jordan’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and leveraging international experiences to support innovation and build a sustainable digital economy.

He pointed out that the cooperation with Kazakhstan is a significant step toward exchanging knowledge and expertise in digital fields by establishing sustainable partnerships that foster entrepreneurship, support the growth of startups, and create a developed digital environment that contributes to inclusive economic development.

For his part, Minister Madiev expressed his eagerness to strengthen digital cooperation with Jordan, noting that this collaboration will open new horizons for developing digital solutions, exchanging best practices in modern technology, and achieving tangible outcomes that will benefit both countries. This cooperation will focus on developing digital infrastructure and enhancing human resource skills in innovation and technology.

The memorandum also includes exchanging expertise in personal data protection, supporting entrepreneurship and startups, developing small and medium-sized enterprises in the tech sector, implementing smart city projects, and enhancing training opportunities and capacity building in advanced digital fields.
