
Amman, February 3 (Petra) – Minister of Interior Mazen Faraya met on Monday with Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, along with an accompanying delegation, to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in security matters.
The meeting, which was attended by Director of Public Security Major General Obaidallah Maaytah and senior ministry officials, focused on expanding cooperation in crime prevention, criminal evidence, and the exchange of security expertise. Additionally, they discussed several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Faraya emphasized the deep historical ties between Jordan and Kuwait and the importance of strengthening their collaboration in security fields. He also commended Kuwait’s role in supporting regional security and stability.
Faraya highlighted the regional challenges, especially regarding the situation in Syria, stressing the need for continued support to restore security and stability there. He also addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Sabah underlined Kuwait’s commitment to bolstering cooperation and exchanging expertise with Jordan’s security agencies in various areas. He also expressed gratitude for Jordan’s efforts in maintaining regional stability.
Sabah emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation, particularly in crime prevention and benefiting from Jordanian expertise in criminal evidence and the development of reform and rehabilitation centers.
Maaytah provided an overview of the Public Security Directorate’s modernization efforts, aligned with the royal vision to improve security and stability. He highlighted significant advancements in Jordanian security agencies, including updated technical infrastructure and improved training programs to enhance human resources.
The two sides agreed to arrange visits and prepare action plans based on the security agreement that recently entered into force between the two countries.
