Jordan, Oman Conclude Advanced Vocational Training Program in Heavy Machinery Maintenance

Amman, May 12 (Petra) – An advanced training program for an Omani delegation specializing in heavy machinery maintenance concluded at the al-Quwaismeh Vocational Training Institute, affiliated with the Vocational Training Corporation.

According to a statement issued by the Corporation on Monday, the program was part of bilateral cooperation between Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman in the field of vocational training.

The multi-week program provided intensive hands-on training delivered by a team of highly experienced Jordanian trainers. It covered several specialized areas, including preventive and periodic maintenance procedures, fault diagnosis for mechanical and electrical systems, interpretation of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, and occupational safety and health standards.

Director General of the Corporation, Ahmed Gharabiyeh, underlined that the initiative reflects the Corporation’s commitment to forging quality training partnerships at the regional level, thereby contributing to the development of professional competencies and knowledge exchange, in line with economic modernization priorities and sustainable development goals.

Gharabiyeh noted that the Corporation continues to provide a modern training environment aligned with labor market needs. He emphasized that this program marks a significant step toward implementing additional joint training initiatives between Jordan and Oman.

Members of the Omani delegation expressed appreciation for the professional and technical standards they encountered during the program. They commended Jordanian expertise in designing and executing training courses, and praised the advanced facilities of the Quweismeh Institute, which contributed to enhancing their skills and practical knowledge.

As part of the program, the delegation conducted a field visit to the Jordanian Tractor and Equipment Company (Caterpillar), where they were introduced to the latest technologies and best practices in heavy machinery maintenance, linking theoretical learning to real-world industrial applications.

The program is expected to serve as a model for successful Arab cooperation in the vocational training sector and a platform for future joint efforts to enhance the competitiveness of technical personnel in regional labor markets.

It is worth noting that another Omani delegation is currently participating in an advanced training course in air conditioning and refrigeration at the Singapore Regional Air Conditioning Center, also affiliated with the Vocational Training Corporation. The program offers theoretical and practical instruction in cutting-edge air conditioning technologies, aimed at developing technical skills in this essential field.
