Jordan, Pakistan Mull investment cooperation

Amman, Sept. 22 (Petra) – Investment Minister Tareq Abu Ghazaleh and Pakistani Minister of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh on Monday discussed prospects for investment cooperation between the two countries.

The talks, attended by Secretary General Zaher Qatarneh and Pakistani Ambassador to Amman Mohammad Ajmal Iqbal, took place on the sidelines of the “Invest in Digital Economy” Forum organized by the Amman Chamber of Commerce.

The discussion examined opportunities in the digital economy, technology, and innovation, in addition to strengthening partnerships in priority sectors, according to a ministry statement.

Pakistani investments in Jordan exceeded $155 million, mostly in the industrial sector, and the two sides urged “building on this momentum” to expand cooperation in future-oriented sectors, particularly the digital economy and technology.

Abu Ghazaleh said the Economic Modernization Vision provides a comprehensive national framework to attract quality investments and open new opportunities for both public and private sectors, highlighting Jordan’s ongoing efforts to develop its business environment and position itself as a regional investment hub.
