
Amman, February 12 (Petra) – Jordan took part in the fourth edition of the Arab Youth Leadership Meeting, themed “Made in the Arab World,” held in the United Arab Emirates.
The event gathered Arab youth ministers and youth leaders from across the region to discuss collaborative initiatives aimed at empowering Arab youth in various sectors.
The meeting sought to unify efforts, establish strategic partnerships, and develop a joint agenda to support youth across the Arab world. It featured discussion sessions and presentations highlighting youth initiatives and experiences, fostering a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange.
Assistant Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth for Governorates and Youth Cities Affairs, Ibrahim Shakhanbeh, emphasized that the gathering provided an opportunity for youth to engage with decision-makers, share ideas, and showcase their successful experiences. He noted that such meetings pave the way for enhanced cooperation and exchange of expertise.
Shakhanbeh also presented Jordan’s experience in empowering youth groups, underscoring the pivotal role of youth as drivers of development and positive societal change. He highlighted the attention given by His Majesty King Abdullah II to the youth sector and the ongoing governmental efforts to enhance youth participation in various fields.
He detailed Jordan’s focus on empowering youth in industrial and economic sectors through vocational and technical training, entrepreneurship, innovation, and youth incubators.
Shakhanbeh also underlined the importance of partnering with the private sector to develop training programs that equip young people with essential leadership skills.
The Jordanian youth delegation included winners of the second round of the Al Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Volunteer Work: Abdullah Bani Hani, Juhaina Taha, and Jasser Harasis. They shared their experiences in volunteerism, highlighting its role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals and enhancing community awareness. They emphasized that volunteer work is a fundamental pillar for character development and leadership among youth.
