Amman, Sept 24 (Petra) – The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) joined the 42nd International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) General Assembly, which opened Tuesday at the organization’s headquarters in Montreal.
The workshop, held every three years, is attended by 193 ICAO member countries, in addition to international organizations and entities operating in the civil aviation industry at the regional and international levels.
The Jordanian delegation will meet with peers in member states and participating organizations on the sidelines of the General Assembly meetings to discuss cooperation, CARC said in a statement on Wednesday.
The session, which runs from September 23 to October 3, will address challenges to airport security and safety, passengers, and aircraft, including drones, in addition to environmental conservation and international air transport best methods and technologies.
The organization’s full work program in the technical, economic, legal, and technical cooperation fields is also reviewed. The results of the Assembly’s work are also presented to ICAO’s other bodies and member nations to guide their ongoing and future work and adopt the organization’s 2026-2028 work program and budget.
ICAO is one of the United Nations specialized agencies responsible for international civil aviation affairs.
