Jordan pushes youth empowerment to enhance  development role-Shdifat

Amman, Feb. 12 (Petra) – Minister of Youth, Yazan Shdifat, on Wednesday said Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership, plays a “pivotal” role in the region’s stability, harnessing its international status to serve Arab issues, mainly the Palestinian cause.

During his meeting with “We Stand behind Our Hashemite Leadership” youth initiative, the minister said Jordan has made all efforts in supporting the Palestinians, especially during the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.

The Jordanian role in Gaza featured all political, diplomatic and humanitarian aspects, as Jordan was “one of the first countries” to provide medical and food aid to support the strip’s people, he pointed out.

Shdifat stressed that Jordanians today stand behind His Majesty and his firm position to reject any attempts to displace the Palestinians.

Noting the “remarkable” achievements made during the King’s reign in all sectors, especially in the youth and sports areas, he indicated that the Royal directives stressed the need to support and harness youth’s energies in Jordan’s construction and development.

In this context, he called on activating the youth’s role and entrepreneurship centers, providing sports facilities, and protecting them from the scourge of drugs.

Shdifat ststed the ministry’s role seeks to develop youth’s skills, build their capabilities, and invest their energies, aimed to promoting their engagement in their centers.

On its future action, he reviewed the ministry’s plan to activate youth centers by developing programs, preparing infrastructure, and empowering stakeholders.

Shdifat pointed out the ministry’s “keenness” to attract “purposeful” initiatives and provide technical and logistical support to various youth centers.
