Amman, Feb.13 (Petra) – In a display of national unity and support, Jordanians from across the kingdom gathered this morning to welcome His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein upon their arrival in the capital.
The Speaker of the Lower House, along with fellow House members, were among the first to greet the royal delegation at Marka Airport, following an invitation extended by Speaker Ahmed Safadi during a recent parliamentary session.
The invitation encouraged citizens from all walks of life, including urban, rural, and camp communities, to join in honoring the King’s leadership and his unwavering commitment to defending the nation’s interests, as well as his firm stance on regional issues, particularly his rejection of forced displacement plans.
Early this morning, staff from the House’s General Secretariat joined the crowds, symbolizing national unity. Buses adorned with Jordanian flags and portraits of the King and Crown Prince carried citizens to express their collective support for the leadership’s positions.
Along the route from Marka Military Airport to Raghadan Palace, large crowds gathered, waving flags and holding portraits of the King, voicing their strong backing for His Majesty’s leadership, particularly his opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza. This demonstration of solidarity was a clear reflection of national pride and unity.
Amman, particularly the downtown area, experienced significant traffic as large numbers of citizens arrived in private vehicles decorated with flags and images of the King and Crown Prince, further emphasizing their support for the royal family.
Various local institutions across the country had called for participation in this welcoming event, underscoring the unity of the Jordanian people in support of their leaders.
