Journalist Death Toll in Gaza Rises to 238

Gaza Strip, Aug. 11 (Petra) — The number of journalists killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, has risen to 238, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.

The office decried “the systematic” targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by Israeli forces. It called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all media bodies worldwide to denounce these ongoing crimes against Palestinian journalists and media workers.

It urged the international community, media organizations, and human rights groups across the globe to condemn the violations, hold Israel accountable before international courts, and take effective action to stop the ongoing genocide and protect journalists.

The statement followed the killing of Al Jazeera journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqah, cameramen Ibrahim Zahir and Moamen Aloui, assistant cameraman Mohammed Noufal, and journalist Mohammed Al-Khaldi of Sahat platform.

They were killed in a direct Israeli strike on their tent near Gza City’s Shifa Hospital.
