JPA launches digital storytelling workshop for women journalists in Aqaba

Aqaba, Sept. 22 (Petra) – The Women’s Committee at the Jordan Press Association (JPA), in cooperation with the association’s training center and with support from the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), has launched a three-day training workshop in Aqaba for women journalists under the title “Journalistic Writing and Digital Storytelling.”

The workshop focuses on equipping women journalists with modern digital media tools, learning how to use social media platforms, and developing skills to transform written news reports into diverse digital content that reflects the rapid changes in the media landscape.

Nouf Al-Werr, a member of the committee, said holding the workshop in Aqaba reflects the JPA’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of women journalists and preparing them to keep pace with ongoing changes in the media sector, strengthening their presence and giving them more space for influence and creativity.

She added that the program includes practical and interactive sessions led by digital media experts to provide participants with the skills to produce, edit and distribute content across multiple platforms, expanding their professional role and social impact.

Al-Werr also noted that the course embodies ASEZA’s vision to empower women and strengthen their role in the workplace, alongside supporting media development as part of its broader future-oriented plans to build a modern and dynamic media sector.

She praised the role of the JPA’s coordinating committee in Aqaba in supporting journalists and advancing their professional performance.
