Justice minister, Kuwaiti envoy talk legal cooperation

Amman, Feb. 12 (Petra) – Minister of Justice, Dr. Bassam Talhouni and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan, Sheikh Hamad Rashid Al Marri, on Wednesday discussed ways to enhance and activate bilateral cooperation in the legal fields.

During the meeting, Talhouni stressed the “deep-rooted and brotherly” Jordan-Kuwait relations, which have become a “model” for joint pan-Arab action under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

The minister added that the two countries have already signed several agreements in the field of legal and judicial cooperation, stressing the importance of Arab agreements ratified within the framework of Arab League and others at the international multilateral level.

Meanwhile, Al-Marri stressed the “longstanding, solid and historic” relations, expressing hope to enhance legal cooperation prospects.

The two sides also went over a number of issues of common interest and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation to serve common interests, affirming the importance of exchanging expertise in legal fields in the justice sector and rule of law, according to a Ministry of Justice statement.
