
Rome, Oct. 14 (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II and Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during a meeting in Rome on Tuesday, called for making every effort to ensure the implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza, noting the need for all parties to work effectively until all its stages are completed.
His Majesty and Prime Minister Meloni stressed the need to deliver humanitarian aid in sufficient amounts to all areas of the Gaza Strip.
The King also emphasised the need to build on the Gaza agreement to restore calm in the region and to step up efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace, on the basis of the two-state solution.
During the meeting, attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, His Majesty commended Italy’s role in the humanitarian response in Gaza, and its support for the two-state solution.
The King warned of the dangers of escalations against Palestinians in the West Bank, and the ongoing attacks on Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
His Majesty expressed appreciation of Italy’s efforts in hosting a new round of Aqaba Process meetings, slated for Wednesday, with a focus on the West Africa region.
The meeting attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy touched on the historical ties between Jordan and Italy, as well as ways to expand cooperation across various sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meeting.
