Amman, Feb. 12 (Petra) – As part of the Kingdom’s efforts to support Arab causes and establish security and stability in the region, His Majesty King Abdullah II met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday. The meeting reaffirmed His Majesty’s courageous and unwavering positions on escalating regional crises, particularly the Palestinian issue.
The meeting took place amid rising tensions in the Middle East, reflecting Jordan’s commitment to dialogue and cooperation within the Arab framework. His Majesty emphasized that Jordan’s interests and their protection remain a top priority in all discussions, demonstrating the Kingdom’s dedication to ongoing efforts in strengthening regional security and achieving the stability sought by Arab nations through joint action and engagement with key international players.
Officials speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) said that before traveling to Washington, His Majesty had conducted multiple discussions with Arab leaders. During the meeting with President Trump, he presented a firm Arab stance on the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the two-state solution and rejecting displacement and annexation.
They noted that influential European nations, international organizations, and human rights groups have voiced their rejection of displacement policies. Similarly, prominent American leaders and rights organizations in the U.S. have opposed any forced displacement of Gazans.
Former Prime Minister and current Senator Bisher Khasawneh stated that every Jordanian has the right to be proud of their leader, His Majesty King Abdullah II, who has guided the nation with wisdom, skill, and unwavering adherence to the highest principles and values.
In a statement to Petra, Khasawneh affirmed that His Majesty made it clear during his meeting with President Trump that Jordan’s interests and its people come first, emphasizing that forced displacement is a red line that cannot be crossed. “Jordan is for Jordanians, and Palestine is for Palestinians,” he asserted.
Khasawneh also highlighted that His Majesty, drawing on his extensive international experience, conveyed a clear message that there is a unified Arab stance and a common Arab approach that will be presented to the U.S. administration and the world.
