He stressed that this collective Arab position revolves around rejecting displacement, expediting Gaza’s reconstruction while ensuring its residents remain in place, establishing a ceasefire, and removing Israeli-imposed barriers to humanitarian aid and reconstruction materials. Additionally, it aims to initiate a political process leading to the realization of a two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital, as peace and stability in the region and beyond depend on this outcome.
Khasawneh noted that His Majesty has been steadfast, composed, and courageous in articulating this position without theatrics, skillfully balancing firm principles with diplomatic engagement. He added that Jordan’s humanitarian approach has been evident since the onset of the Israeli aggression against Gaza, including treating Gazan children with cancer in Jordanian hospitals, maintaining field hospitals in Gaza, and sustaining the Kingdom’s role as the world’s largest humanitarian aid provider since World War II.
“His Majesty and Jordan have never wavered in their adherence to principles,” Khasawneh stated, adding, “We take pride in our brave, wise, and devoted King, as well as our noble and principled nation, which has consistently defended Arab causes.”
Senator Tawfiq Kreishan, Chairman of the Administrative Committee in the Senate, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that His Majesty’s remarks during his meeting with President Trump clearly rejected any attempts to annex parts of the West Bank or forcibly displace Palestinians.
“The Jordanian position, under His Majesty’s leadership, regarding the Palestinian issue has always been firm and unwavering,” Kreishan said, noting that any attempt to question Jordan’s stance only serves Israeli interests.
Kreishan outlined three main points from the Jordanian-American summit, which was attended by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II. The first was His Majesty’s assertion that Jordan’s national interests are paramount. The second was the insistence that any decisions on the Palestinian issue must be made through unified Arab consensus. The third was the clarity of the King’s position, which is supported by Arab states, as evidenced by his ongoing consultations with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and European nations.
