
Amman, Jan. 9 (Petra) – Minister of Government Communication and Spokesperson Mohammad Momani highlighted the significance of the strong partnership between the government and the Lower House of Parliament, noting that this relationship, governed by the constitution, is marked by positivity and mutual respect.
During his appearance on a radio show on Thursday, Momani mentioned that the ministerial team, led by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, has heard the speeches of MPs over the past few days regarding the draft General Budget Law for 2025. He emphasized that all observations from the MPs’ speeches were noted to be addressed within available capabilities, fulfilling the constitutional oversight role of the Lower House as a legislative authority.
Momani further stated that the government works collaboratively with the Lower House, which is the first council following the political modernization project. This project included amendments to the election and party laws, as well as constitutional changes, aiming to achieve the state’s political modernization goals.
Regarding media development, Momani reiterated the need for a future vision to be developed for the national media, in collaboration with various media sectors in Jordan. He noted that the ministry continues to hold meetings with all media stakeholders, with the second phase including the formation of specialized teams from different media sectors to address key challenges in their work.
Momani emphasized that the future media vision will support the national media in defending Jordan, its positions, and its interests, particularly the Palestinian cause and the protection of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem under the Hashemite guardianship.
On Jordan-Syria relations, Momani reaffirmed the deep historical ties between the two countries and peoples. He reiterated Jordan’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people in rebuilding their country and preserving its stability and sovereignty.
Momani highlighted the successful visit of the Syrian delegation to Jordan, during which several critical issues were discussed, including border security, drug smuggling, and the formation of joint committees in sectors such as energy, health, transportation, trade, and water to foster cooperation benefiting both nations.
