Amman, Feb. 15 (Petra) – Minister of Government Communications Mohammad Momani, stated that the Jordanian people have shown widespread solidarity around His Majesty King Abdullah II, supporting his clear and decisive stances on the Palestinian cause.

During his appearance on Roya TV’s Nabd Al-Balad aired Saturday evening, Momani added that this popular solidarity reflects full support for Jordan’s clear position against the forced displacement of the Palestinian people and the emphasis on adhering to the rights of the Palestinian people, embodied in the two-state solution as the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace and establishing the foundations of stability and prosperity in the region.

Momani, who is also the government’s spokesperson, affirmed that Jordan is capable of overcoming challenges through the wisdom of its leadership in facing difficult situations.

He explained that His Majesty’s positions reflect the steadfast stance of the state, which prioritizes the interests of Jordan and its people above all else, representing the essence of national unity in defending Jordan and preserving its sovereignty. He considered wisdom and rationality as fundamental pillars of Jordanian policy, enhancing the Kingdom’s ability to address regional and international issues with balance.

He emphasized that security and stability in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are of paramount importance to the Kingdom, stressing adherence to the two-state solution as the cornerstone of a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Momani clarified that Jordan’s unwavering position is to support the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, affirming that any stance contradicting this direction undermines the chances of achieving a just and lasting peace.

When asked about the skepticism some have shown toward Jordan’s positions, he responded: “The Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty, once again demonstrates its wisdom and prudence in dealing with critical issues, reaffirming its leadership in defending national and Arab interests.”

He added: “Jordan, thanks to the vision of its leadership and people, continues its journey as a pioneering state in supporting just causes, especially those concerning the Arab and Islamic nations.”

He pointed out that the steadfast commitment to the interests of the Jordanian people and the state is the main driver behind the adherence to wisdom and rationality in taking positions and decisions, enhancing Jordan’s ability to face regional and international challenges with steadfastness and confidence. He affirmed that national unity is the essence of Jordan’s strength, embodying the ability of Jordanians to defend their homeland.
