Highlights ‘Promising Companies Market and Incentive Programme’

Muscat,
6 May (ONA) — Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) held the first introductory meeting
on the ‘Promising Companies Market and Incentive Programme’, as part of a
series of sessions organised across the governorates in cooperation with Oman
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), aiming to enhance the investment
environment and expand financing options.

These
meetings form part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at creating a more
attractive investment environment for both local and foreign investors,
supporting the government’s direction to diversify income sources by developing
the financial sector, and preparing a new generation of knowledgeable and
experienced investors.

The
session introduced the Incentive Programme, part of the Oman Vision 2040
Implementation Follow-up Unit under the Capital Market Development initiative.
It offers packages for closed and family-owned companies to list on the Muscat
Stock Exchange (MSX), with three key tracks: converting companies into public
joint-stock entities (targeting those valued above RO 10 million), launching
the Promising Companies Market for SMEs with a market value above RO 500,000, and
encouraging limited liability companies with similar value and more than 20
Omani employees to become closed joint-stock companies.
