Amman, Jan. 30 (Petra)– Across Jordan’s governorates, official and popular events were held on Friday to celebrate the 64th birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II, as public, educational, civil, and sports institutions expressed sincere sentiments of loyalty and belonging to the Hashemite leadership.

The celebrations recalled the King’s journey of giving and achievement and highlighted his pivotal role in consolidating Jordan’s status as a safe and stable state, moving steadily along paths of construction, reform, and modernization.

Assistant Speaker of the Lower House, MP Maisoon Al-Qawab’a, said that His Majesty’s birthday represents a national milestone through which Jordanians express their deepest feelings of pride in the Hashemite leadership. She stressed that Jordanians renew their pledge of loyalty on this cherished occasion, affirming: “With you, Your Majesty, we remain faithful to our pledge, moving forward inspired by your wisdom and dedication in serving the country and safeguarding its dignity.”

Al-Qawab’a added that the King’s path of giving has set a model of steadfastness and wisdom, reinforcing Jordan’s standing as a strong state in its positions, firm in its principles, and capable of confronting challenges with confidence and resolve.

Zarqa University, represented by its President Nidal Al-Ramahi and its academic and administrative staff, congratulated His Majesty on his auspicious birthday, expressing pride in the wise Hashemite leadership that guides the nation with determination, strengthens security and stability, preserves the dignity of Jordanians, and enhances Jordan’s regional and international standing.

In a statement, the university noted that this national occasion is a bright moment to recall the achievements realized during His Majesty’s reign, as Jordan has continued its reform and modernization approach across political, economic, and social fields, based on a comprehensive royal vision that places the human being at the heart and purpose of development.

The university also praised the continued royal support for higher education, underscoring its vital role in empowering youth, improving education quality and scientific research, and preparing creative, competitive national competencies.

Ajloun National University likewise congratulated His Majesty, recalling milestones of achievement under his leadership, during which Jordan strengthened its regional and international role in defending the causes of the Arab nation foremost the Palestinian cause while advancing political, economic, and social reform and promoting values of moderation, tolerance, and coexistence.

The Veterans’ Athletes Association in Irbid organized a national celebration marking the occasion, attended by official, sports, and community figures. Speakers praised the historic Hashemite role in building the modern Jordan and highlighted royal patronage of the sports sector. The association commended His Majesty as the “King of Sports” for his continued support, noting achievements by Jordanian sports, including football’s qualification for the World Cup, the Olympic team’s progress in Asian finals, and international successes in sports such as karate. The event featured poetry and national performances and concluded with honoring sports clubs and athletes for their achievements.

Irbid National University also extended congratulations, emphasizing that the occasion renews loyalty to the Hashemite leadership and recalls qualitative achievements particularly in higher education made possible through royal patronage that strengthened education and research and built a competitive Jordanian citizen.

The Jordan Forum for Policy Dialogue stated that the King’s birthday is an occasion to reflect on national achievements and take pride in the national journey. Forum President Dr. Hamid Bataineh noted that His Majesty’s leadership, marked by wisdom and responsibility, has consolidated Jordan’s stability and enhanced its regional and international presence, with a Hashemite approach rooted in dialogue and the rule of law supporting political and economic reform.

The Bani Obeid District Municipality also expressed pride in His Majesty’s leadership, affirming that the occasion renews loyalty and belonging, and praying for the continued security, stability, and strength of Jordan under the wise Hashemite leadership.
