Advances Energy Transition Strategy at Major Industry Conference
Muscat,
13 Oct (ONA) — Oman’s energy transformation agenda took center stage as the
fourth Oman Electricity and Energy Conference 2025 inaugurated today under the
theme “Accelerating Oman’s Energy Transition.”
The
three-day conference, hosted at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, brings
together international experts and industry leaders to address Oman’s evolving
energy landscape.
Dr.
Said bin Hamad Al Rubaie, Vice Chancellor of the University of Technology and
Applied Sciences, inaugurated the conference, highlighting its critical timing
as Oman intensifies focus on its energy sector, particularly clean energy
development. “This gathering represents a strategic platform for knowledge
transfer and technological advancement, connecting Omani industrial companies
with global investors and specialists,” Al Rubaie stated.
Conference
deliberations are addressing fundamental strategic priorities within Oman’s
energy sector, including electricity market optimization, asset management,
grid modernization, energy efficiency, and renewable energy integration, with
specific attention to local implementation challenges.
The
opening day featured comprehensive analysis of Oman’s electricity market
evolution, while subsequent sessions will examine asset management optimization
and operational efficiency enhancement. The final day will concentrate on
sustainable energy solutions, storage technologies and renewable energy
applications, complemented by specialized training courses across three core
domains: future energy systems, smart grid infrastructure and high-voltage
transmission innovations.
A
concurrent technical exhibition showcases cutting-edge solutions and
innovations from leading international companies across electricity and energy
sectors. The conference has attracted substantial global participation, with
over 2,000 attendees, 750 delegates, and 50 expert speakers representing more
than thirty countries.
