
Oman, UK Discuss Prospects for Joint CooperationLondon, 8 Oct (ONA) — The 17th session of the Oman-UK Joint Working Group was held in London.The Omani side was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the British side was headed by Hamish Falconer, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office responsible for the Middle East.The meeting reviewed aspects of the bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance them to achieve the desired outcomes. It also discussed prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in cultural, sports, educational, and training fields. On the sidelines of the meeting, the two sides signed an agreement concerning the employment of spouses of diplomats.The meeting was attended by Badr Mohammed Al Manthri, Oman’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr. Lianne Saunders, the UK Ambassador to Oman, and a number of representatives from government entities in both countries.— Ends/AH
