Uzbekistan Explore Ways to Enhance Investment, Industrial and Trade Cooperation

Muscat,
19 Aug (ONA) — Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and
Investment Promotion, received in Muscat today Laziz Kudratov, Minister of
Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The
meeting aimed at enhancing economic and investment relations between the
Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The
meeting reviewed avenues for developing economic and commercial cooperation
between the two countries. It also discussed promising opportunities in the
fields of investment, industry and trade, and followed up on the outcomes of
the Omani-Uzbek Joint Committee.

Cooperation
in the fields of transport, industry, mining, and the tourism sector was also
discussed, alongside exploring the potential for exchanging expertise and
building strategic partnerships that contribute to diversifying income sources
and enhancing trade exchange, with a focus on activating partnerships between
the public and private sectors.

Furthermore,
Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, met
with Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan,
and his accompanying delegation.

The
meeting explored prospects for joint work, as well as promising potential and
opportunities that align with the priorities of Oman and Uzbekistan.

The
Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade is accompanied by a
high-level delegation comprising officials and businesspeople. During the
two-day visit, the delegation will meet with a number of officials and company
heads in sectors of mutual interest, including logistics, banking, textiles,
and oil and gas.

The
meeting was attended by Pankaj Khimji, Advisor for Foreign Trade and
International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment
Promotion, Abdulsalam Khatmov, appointed Ambassador of the Republic of
Uzbekistan to the Sultanate of Oman, Eng. Nasser Khalifa Al Kindi, CEO of
“Invest Oman,” and a number of officials from both sides.
